she stood on the edge as the moon shone bright,
against a dark sky on a dead cold night,
she thought of those all she held dear,
all were gone, this burden, was her alone to bear,
behind lay misery and suffering and pain,
and the forlorn hope and the rusty chains,
ahead lay freedom in the darkest black,
her mind said forward but the body fought back,k
the crepuscular light showed her brazen face,
and a path behind, and head on,an abysmal space,
she thought again of her ghastly past,
and her times spent, as a wretched outcast,
deep scars were visible on her cold pale skin, showing pain without, and battles lost, within,
the cold air whistled as it sung the knell,
while she waited patiently for the midnight bell,
atlast she heard the midnight chime,
and thus she leapt, unlike last time….
